Before, your four-legged buddy can accompany you to our Belize eco lodge, the following entry requirements set by the Belize Agricultural Health Authority(BAHA) need to be adhere to in order forearly detection and prevent the entry of animal diseases.

Your pet need to be accompanied by a recent veterinary certificate issued by a registered veterinarian in the country of origin, stating that the pet animal is clinically healthy, free of signs of infectious and contagious disease. You will need to apply for a valid import permit from BAHA as they carry outinspectionsat port of entries to Belize property and ensure that all conditions of importations are met.

Another must for your furry friend to be with you whilst you are living inBelize is a valid rabies certificate which is not less than one month or more than one year prior to the date of importation. Any pet less than three months of age that don’t qualified for rabies shot will be confined at your Belize off grid home until three months of age, at which time the animal must be vaccinated against rabies and confined for an additional thirty (30) days and inspected by a BAHA veterinary officer.
