School is very important in order to prepare your kids for further education. Most children start kindergarten at the age of four. From this stage, they move onwards to Primary School where they will spend the next eight years enrolled in a school near while you are livingin belize. Once they graduate from primary school they move on to four years of High School in an institution near your belize property.

Most schools in Belize are operated under Catholic, Anglican or Methodist denomination. Almost all primary and high schools in Belize use uniforms. Only Junior Colleges and Universities do not use uniforms.The cost of education in Belize can range from ridiculously cheap at the public primary schools or it can be very costly at private schools. You will have several options to explore when you decide to relocate to our ecovillage.

Belize has become one of the best places for Canadians to retire, hence many ex-pats are relocating with their children. After your children finish high school they move on to either two years in a Junior College (commonly called Sixth Form) or to a four-year course at the University Level to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree. Galen University is located very close to our intentional community and they offer dual degrees from the University of Indianapolis and a Galen University Degree.
